Typographic Installation

Typographic Installation

BRIEF:
Create a typographic art installation using one word to make a visual impact in a public space.

CONCEPT:
Wild animals are often held in captivity after being forced out of their natural habitats, thus the word "Hostage" came about.

To create the snow leopards cage, I used metal mesh and foam core. This was a difficult endeavor as the mesh was hard to manipulate and cut. "Hostage" was printed on clear acetate to seamlessly blend into the background, while remaining eye catching and distinct.

The typeface used is "DINk" and was chosen because of its rough texture and bold impact.
